Metro, a transportation medium which is no less than a bullet train for office going people. Employees nowadays do not compromise with office timings hence they try to reach office on time and metro in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai have helped them a lot and now it seems like Calcutta is ready for the same!

Thanks a lot to Indian railways for sharing the very first look of the underground Howrah metro station whose construction has been completed now and the station is very well structured. The brand new metro station in Kolkata is all set and it is the only metro station in the entire country to be the deepest and breaking the records of Delhi Metro’s yellow line station – Chawri Bazar.

The Indian Railways also disclosed that it took 17 years to complete the making of this metro station which has been developed on the east-west metro alignment and is 105ft deep.

Talking about the entire infrastructure of the metro station, this particular metro station is 16 km long including 4 levels and 5 slabs and will be connecting directly with the Howrah Junction which is considered as one of the top busiest railway stations in India. Also, it will be under the Ganga and Hoogly river that represents that passengers traveling in this metro will spend around 1 to 2 minutes inside the river.

We hope to see the final look of this metro station and it will be really fun to have a metro ride in Calcutta. Soon people of Calculta will enjoy the metro ride and will reach to their respective destinations in less time.
