While the nation is celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, one of our neighbours is a step ahead. Every year, we all gather around Ganpati Mandap, welcoming Bappa and worshipping him for almost 10 days.

Many people on WhatsApp are also sharing various incidents of Ganesha’s Life on WhatsApp. However, at this time a tweet from Film Producer Tanuj Garg has shocked the entire nation.

‘The only country on earth to have Lord Ganesha on a currency note is the largest Muslim country – Indonesia’. Tanuj Garg captioned the post accompanying the picture of the note.

In the note, the image of Lord Ganesha is inscribed besides Ki Hajar Dewantara – a well-known Indonesian independence activist. There is also a picture of the classroom behind this note.

Why this is so important for India?

It is a noteworthy fact that Indonesia is a country with a Muslim Majority Population. With almost 87.2% as Muslim and only 1.7% as Hindus. However, it notable that Indonesia finds it’s Historical traces from Hindu Mythological Literature.

Even the capital of Nation ‘Bali’ is having its name from a character of the Ramayana. Apart from that, many traces of the Mahabharata are present across the country. One of the prevalent being Krishna-Arjuna statue at Jakarta Square.

It will also astonish you that Indonesia’s Military Emblem carries Hanuman as their Mascot. Indonesia is having the influence of Hindu culture since it’s establishment. We can notice the same through the tales of Indonesia.

We, as an Indian must be proud of this honour we are getting from a neighbour country. India is having a varied culture and we all must respect and adore it!
