Love has no boundaries! And to do anything for the person you love is some special quality. However, there are some brave hearts, who lose love even after sacrificing a lot many things. This tale is of one such pair, which is not a couple (yet)!
Simon Louis and Mary Emmanuelle met each other at a club in South London in the 1990s. While Louis had already fallen for Mary, she had not much of feelings for him. However, both of them continued as friends.
Still, Louis used to send her chocolates and flowers on Valentine’s Day with a ray of hope. Mary, was a secretary at a stock broker’s firm, while Louis was assisting his brother in organizing music events.
In 2014, Mary collapsed in her house. Where her son found him choking in her own blood. The doctor diagnosed that she is suffering through a rare kidney disease which requires immediate kidney transplant from a B-Negative Blood donor.
Since this was a huge setback for Mary, she says,
“I couldn’t believe it – I had been given a demise sentence. My name was put on a ‘de*d donor’ list. I could only wait.”
At such time, Louis came to Mary’s rescue. When tested, it was found that Louis too has B-Negative blood. Both of them underwent tests and finally a surgery of successful kidney transplants.
Residing together in Louis’s flat, they took care of each other while recovering. Louis proposed Mary but got a negative answer.
“I think I’d worry if we got married it would in some way lesion our special friendship and also I don’t want to get wed until I’m fully better health-wise.”
However, Simon doesn’t regret a thing.
“I didn’t think twice about it. There’s no question about doing something like that for someone you love.”
