Night Curfew Imposed in Mumbai & Other Cities of Maharashtra From 22nd December to 5th January 2021

On December 21st, 2020, The Maharashtra government has announced a night curfew in all the major cities of the state from 11 Pm to 6 Am starting from the 22nd December 2020 to January 5th, 2021 due to the latest coronavirus mutation which is found in the United Kingdom.

Also, the government has also decided to conduct institutional quarantine for passengers who are travelling from the Middle East and Europe. Also, the passengers who are landing from other countries will have to home quarantine.

This decision came after the meeting was chaired by Uddhav Thackeray the chief minister of Maharashtra. In the meeting, it was decided that more precautions should be taken to stop the mutation of the virus in the UK to enter into India.

This decision was taken hours after India suspended all flights from the UK until December 31st 2020.

During the meeting, Thackeray has directed his team to set up a separate hospital from the passengers travelling from Europe if they are found to have any symptoms of the new mutation of the coronavirus.

It is said that the passengers travelling from the Middle East and Europe will be tested for the virus on the 5th or the 7th day of the quarantine, and if tested negative, they will be sent home for completing their quarantine period.
