Ganeshotsav is a festival which is celebrated every year for 10 days in a grand manner. During Ganeshotsav all the cities are attractively decorated with colorful lights and varieties of creative decorations of mandap. On the last day of festival processions are conducted, so as a result the roads become crowded with devotees. On such an environment, the safety of the public becomes the first priority for the government.
The government conducts safety steps for citizens on the day of immersion. The Pune police have deeply taken care of safety on the last day of Lord Ganesh immersion on 12th September 2019.
Government has prepared a complete strategy for peaceful Ganesh immersion. A total of 10,000 policemen & 28,000 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will keep a close observation on the celebration of immersion that will take place across the city. Mr. K Venkatesham, Pune police commissioner said, “All the required security steps have been taken to make sure that the process of Lord Ganesh immersion on Thursday should move without any complication.
The entire police force will be on backup to provide security & support to Ganesh Mandals & devotees. We desire citizens to coordinate the police so that they can ensure a peaceful and smooth process of Lord Ganesh immersion procession.”
The Government has strengthened the security arrangements, 4 additional commissioners, 12 deputy commissioners, 27 assistant commissioners, 150 police inspectors, bomb detection and disposal squad(BDDS), civil volunteers, home guards, former police officials and registered Ganapati volunteers will be on duty.
Joint Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Shisve, Pune said, “The entire police force will be keeping a close eye on the noise pollution levels so that it won’t damage the environment. The important command has been given to mandals to stick to the norms which are decided by the court”.
They have conducted the meetings with all the 377 mandals and informed all the decided norms by the court. Informed joint commissioner Dr. Shisve. Even the anti-Terrorism group (ATS) personnel have been located to keep a constant eye on foreigners, delicate locations & installations, hotels and crowded places as a part of sharpening security processes, added Dr. Shisve.
Government has taken complete care of both safety and security of citizens and environment.
