Xiaomi has officially unveiled the new Mi Charge Turbo wireless charging technology. For comparison, fast charging in the Mi 9 produces a maximum of 20 watts. The fast wireless charging usually stays at 10 W, while the Qualcomm Quickcharge 3 cable reaches 18 W. By cable we have faster standards, capable of reaching 30, 40 and even 50 W. But Xiaomi’s new technology will power up to 30 watts.
The new technology will allow you to charge a battery with a capacity of 4,000 mAh to 50% in just 25 minutes, and it takes 69 minutes to fully charge. Technology will debut in the Mi 9 Pro 5G, due out later this year. The smartphone will also receive 10 W reverse charging, thanks to which it can charge the iPhone Xs Max up to 20% in half an hour.
The manufacturer also announced a stand for wireless charging, compatible with Mi Charge Turbo. It holds the phone upright and uses a built-in cooler to prevent overheating. Price and name have not yet been disclosed.
Xiaomi does not intend to stop on what has been achieved: the company is already testing wireless charging at 40 watts. Soon it can come out with Mi Mix 4.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is already preparing a 5G version of its main flagship, but we did not know when it would be presented. It is expected that this new terminal integrates a 4000 mAh battery with wireless charging. So, it is pretty sure that Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphones won’t come without wireless technology.
